Basics, Survival & Combat
Welcome to Lords of Heck! This is a pure, classic 2.5D arcade brawler. Positioning, spacing, and timing are everything. Don't trade hits with enemies—wait out their attack animations before you punish.

Bailing Out: If you're on the verge of death, bail to the world map and play the island fishing minigame to regain health.

The Grind: If you keep getting wrecked, go back to the easier Green or Yellow levels to farm life and damage stats.

Flight Combat: When flying, hold down Attack and Dash at the exact same time. It massively buffs your attack speed and lets you frantically zip around the battlefield.

Main Stage Walkthrough
Level 1: The Dungeon
You start in a grim, stone-walled dungeon. Enemies will try to swarm you early. Use sweeping attacks to keep the undead off your back. Dispatch the regular skeletons quickly so you can get to the skeleton archers.

BOSS: Demon Boss - Let him come to you and spam the attack button. If you get too close, he'll cleave you down!
Level 2: The Sewers
The sewers are infested with demonic abominations of creepy crawlies that spawn from piles of rotten flesh.

BOSS: Pestilence Demon - It summons demon bugs to rip you to shreds, but it has low life. Get in quick and "do the lords work" :D

SECRET: On Yellow (Normal) difficulty, smack the glowing Skull Lamp hidden in the muck. A giant fish demon will swallow you up and drag you straight to Secret Level 1!
Level 3: The Descent
A massive vertical cave drop and the first level where you can fly using the wings dropped by the Level 2 boss. Succubi will randomly spawn to attack you. PRO TIP: Let them come to you and manage your positioning so you don't get overwhelmed.

BOSS: Succubus Queen - Found at the bottom of the chasm. Watch out—she summons minions and swings a massive battle axe!
Level 4: Lava Lord's Lair
The fiery finale of the main path. Every time you kill a flying demon, two more spawn—the faster you kill them, the more appear! You MUST beat the boss to unlock the harder tiers.

After flying along the molten causeway, grab the Angel Sword for a big damage increase and ranged attack! This will clear the flying demons and summon the Lava Lord.

BOSS: Lava Lord - He has two devastating attacks: a giant laser if you're too far away, and a nasty sword swipe when you're in close.
​

PRO TIP: The best way to fight him is to get up close and personal and hit him right in the face.
Secret Levels & The True Boss
Secret Level 1: Underwater
As soon as the level starts, mash the attack button as fast as possible to break free from the demon fish that swallowed you! The physics change here, so manage your oxygen and grab the big bubbles so you don't run out of air and take damage.

BOSS: Mermaidur - She summons giant demonic sea urchins you need to avoid.

PRO TIP: You don't take collision damage from her, so stay right on top of her and hack away!
Secret Level 2: Ghost Ship
Walk the plank and clear the cursed crew. PRO TIP: The bottom right corner of the ship acts as a total safe zone when fighting the regular ghost pirates!

BOSS: Kaiju Pirate Captain - Do NOT try to trade blows. Space your attacks perfectly so you aren't hitting it during its active attack frames. Crucial: Do not attack the Kaiju when it's firing its lightning breath! Back off and use ranged attacks.
Secret Level 3: The Demonic Jungle
Make sure to farm health potions from the skeleton axolotl tribesmen before you wipe them all out, or you'll miss the loot when the screen scrolls!

BOSS: Aztec Demon - This fight has three brutal stages. PRO TIP: He is totally vulnerable while changing forms, so wail on him as much as you can during the transitions!

Stage 1 (Bird): It randomly swoops down at you. It flies too high to hit (even with the Demon Sword upgrade), so you must wait for the swoop to attack!

Stage 2 (Crocodile): It turns into an absolute tank. Dodge underneath its attacks and punish it from behind.

Stage 3 (Giant Snake): The demon guts itself and performs a blood ritual, becoming a massive snake. Position yourself in the middle of the snake and wait for it to attack. Dash out of the way, turn back around, and hit it! Repeat this until you literally cut its head off.

SECRET: Once you cut off the snake's head, it drops the Golden Elixir to give you full health!​
Secret Level 4: The Corrupted Temple
Clear Room 1, then head to Room 2. Keep your distance from the big skeleton so you don't take damage from its AoE knockback. Once Room 2 is clear, attack the chained prisoner bottom-left to get Super Armor, then run left back into Room 1. The screen will shake and bombs will drop. Grab them and run back to Room 2.

BOSS: Demonic Hell Cannon (Room 3) - Dodge its attacks and blow it up. Plant a bomb by the crack in the wall and light it with a demon sword attack.

SECRET (Cow Egg): Hit the slain prisoner in Room 2 a couple more times to drop a Secret Cow Egg that completely refills your life (there is no cow level).

SECRET (The Black Key): The blast in Room 3 opens Room 4! It's loaded with black skeletons. Spam dash to keep max distance. Beat them to get the Black Key and a treasure trove of buff items.
Super Secret Level: The Gates of Heck

HOW TO UNLOCK: Once you have the Black Key, finish all normal levels on Yellow to unlock Level 1 on Red (Hard) mode. Start Level 1 on Hard. On the second screen, a red chain will block one of the doors. Use the Black Key to open the gates to Heck!

BOSS 1: Dark Mirror - You'll face a dark mirror version of yourself. It's a brutal fight, so keep your distance as far as possible.

TRUE FINAL BOSS: The Demon King - Beat your mirror and a portal opens. The Demon King is insanely aggressive and warps randomly to the left and right sides of the screen. Dodge the purple energy waves from his scythe. If he hurls an energy ball at you, slash it with your sword to reflect it! The reflected orb will crackle with holy energy and stun him if it connects.
Post-Game
Hit up the island fishing minigame to cool down and recover after all that absolute carnage!
